External Liaison and Information
The Public Information Office (PIO) is responsible for the preparation and distribution of non-scientific material to the public. The material includes newsletters, brochures, pamphlets and news releases. The PIO also serves as the primary link with the media. To assist in the preparation of this material and to serve the larger public, the PIO also oversees the Centre's Photo and Statistical Archives. PIO staff are skilled in statistics and language translation, especially English to Italian.
The PIO produces informative material both in print and electronic form:

Archives: News items (since October 2004).
- The quarterly newsletter News from ICTP.
- The ICTP Visitor's Guide .
- Brochures and leaflets are printed and can be found on shelves in all ICTP buildings.
- Statistics on visitation to ICTP since 1964 are available on the PIO web page.
- The PIO also issues news releases on ICTP activities. Journalists wishing to write on ICTP or interview staff should contact the office (pressoffice@ictp.it).
- The PIO's Photo Archives contain a vast collection of photographs of scientists who have visited and activities that have taken place at ICTP. The media may contact the office (pressoffice@ictp.it) for requests.
- Those interested in developing scientific exhibitions may utilize PIO services for informative materials and for co-ordinating the participation of ICTP offices.
- Schools and/or groups interested in guided visits of ICTP may contact PIO (sci_info@ictp.it; fax: +39 040 22407564). Groups with max of 20 people at a time are accepted.
