Research Topics
ESP research activities can be broadly divided into the
following main areas:
This activity concerns itself with climate change of anthropogenic and natural origins.
This research line aims to understand the variability of the current climate and its predictability on subseasonal to decadal time scales
This research aims to improve the understanding of the way earthquake faults stick and slip in time and on aspects of how the Earth's Interior deforms with emphasis on the physics of crust-upper mantle interactions.
This research line aims concentrates on the impacts of the climate on the end-user. It includes agriculture, water resources and health impacts modelling over timescales ranging from months, seasonal through decades.
This research line examines the role of the oceans in climate predictability and climate change.
A first objective of our activity is to improve the understanding and modeling of the evolution of chemical compounds under the influence of climatic processes and anthropogenic activity (emissions).
